Support for Pregnant Women in MAT

Addressing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS):

At Texas Clinic, we are committed to supporting the health and well-being of both expecting mothers and their babies. Pregnant women receiving Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) face unique challenges, including the risk of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS)—a condition that occurs when a newborn experiences withdrawal symptoms due to opioid exposure in the womb.

To help address this critical issue, Texas Clinic receives targeted funding to reduce the incidence of NAS and improve outcomes for pregnant clients and their infants. This funding supports comprehensive, evidence-based care that includes:

  • Tailored MAT plans that prioritize maternal and fetal health
  • Prenatal care coordination with physicians experienced in high-risk pregnancies
  • Counseling and case management to support long-term recovery and parenting
  • Education and support on NAS and neonatal care

Texas Clinic partners with Baylor College of Medicine, Santa Maria Hostel, and Bentaub Hospital to provide compassionate, informed care that empowers pregnant women to safely manage opioid use disorder, reduce the risk of NAS, and prepare for a healthy birth and recovery journey.

If you or someone you know is pregnant and seeking help, Texas Clinic is here to support you every step of the way.
